The Warrnambool Racing Club (WRC) and Haymes Paint announced a significant renewal of their long-standing Jericho partnership on Monday morning.

The sponsorship fortifies the Jericho Cup as a mainstay on the racing calendar, with the new agreement providing both businesses runway to continue to innovate around such a unique race day.

Warrnambool Racing Club’s manager (Operations and Marketing) Luke Aggett said it was “truly exciting” to have Haymes Paint renew its commitment for a further three years.

“Their commitment to the Jericho Cup since its inception in 2018 symbolises the significance of the race day, and we’re rapt to see that they have enjoyed the growth of the event by staying so committed,” Mr Aggett said.

WRC committee chair Mark McNamara also expressed his gratitude.

“The Warrnambool Racing Club is delighted that Haymes Paint has agreed to extend its sponsorship of the Jericho Cup for a further three years,” he said.

“We value our relationship with this important family-owned business based in Ballarat.

“The extension is particularly pleasing given that Haymes Paint has sponsored the Jericho Cup since its first running at Warrnambool in 2018.”

Matthew Haymes, Haymes Paint strategy and sales director, said the company was incredibly proud to continue its partnership with the Warrnambool Racing Club and the Jericho Cup.

“This event holds significant importance for Haymes Paint as it celebrates the spirit of excellence and tradition,” he said.

“As a proudly Australian, family-owned business, we feel a deep connection.

“We have long had a connection to the Warrnambool community through our partnership with Hammonds Paint and are thrilled, as the naming rights sponsor of the Haymes Paint Jericho Cup, to continue to deepen this connection.

“It is through support from locals in the region, both retail and trade consumers, purchasing Haymes Paint at Hammonds Paints stores that enable us to continue to support community events like the wonderful Jericho Cup.”

The 2025 Haymes Paint Jericho Cup Day will be held on Sunday, 30 November.

Tickets and packages are still available by visiting the Warrnambool Racing Club website or phoning the office.
