East Beach redevelopment continues
WORKS on stage one of the East Beach redevelopment project is progressing well.
According to Moyne Shire Council, it is anticipated that by Christmas this year, all stage one footpaths will be completed and road asphalting and line-marking of new angle car parks will be well underway.
It is also expected that by Christmas, turf will be laid for a new expanded open space area, solar streetlights will be installed, new drinking fountains and outdoor showers will be installed at the Bourne Avenue end of the precinct, and landscaping and planting will also be complete at that end.
Over the 2024-25 Christmas and New year school holiday period, there will be full vehicle access along Hughes Avenue, Beach Street and Bourne Avenue.
New angle parking will also be available for use during that time and access to the beach (via the Bourne Avenue ramp) will be fully open.
It is planned that the current amenities block will be fully available, while site restrictions will be in place around the permitter of the new lawn area.
It is anticipated that works will stop from Friday, December 20 and will recommence on Monday, January 13.
